All spacecraft in the Terran and Kilrathi arsenal is not geared towards combat. The supply and logistics vessels are the true unsung heroes of the War. A military cannot run or fight on an empty stomach, and these vessels are always on call to make sure that doesn’t happen.

Prologue Characters

Terran Confederation pilots are a diverse and precise group of hi-tech warriors who strive for overachievement in everything that they do. To fly a top-of-the-line space fighter against the Kilrathi requires an individual with a well-balanced combination of intellect, discipline, talent, confidence, maturity, and ego. The competition to become a Confed fighter pilot is fierce, and it has to be: 27th Century fighter combat against the Kilrathi is even fiercer.

The game and complimentary fiction from the Wing Commander Saga Prologue introduces the main character and several members from his flight training class. Instructed by veterans rotated from the front, the main character makes new friends and mentors as he learns to hone his skills in the safety of Confederation space.

Capital Ships

Capital ships have gone a long way, ever since Man built wooden ships to sail the seven seas back at Terra. Even though technology and the battlefield has evolved to new galaxies, levels, and fields, the basic role of capital ships serving as offensive platforms and power projection roles still remains true. Armed with state of the art weaponry and technological marvels, a single Terran starship has enough firepower to lay waste to an entire planet.

Terran starships emphasize on military efficiency and survivability. They prefer to stay to the rear of battle, supporting the main battle (fought by Terran fighters) from afar with beam cannons and missiles. In addition, each starship is very well armored and shielded for increased survivability, and redundant systems and damage control systems makes it hard to cripple. Kilrathi starships are no match against their Terran counterparts in a 1 on 1 battle.

Confederation Fighters

Terran Confederation military aircraft represent the pinnacle of achievement in the latter half of the 27th Century. This is due largely to the two key principles responsible for each aeronautical effort. Aerospace Engineering evolved from primitive powered flight back on Earth. Now it is one of the most exact sciences in the universe. At the same time, Advanced Materials Manufacturing has exploded into an industry that continues to expand at a pace rivaling the airpeed of today’s top fighters.

An average of 8,000 man-years goes into the design and implementation of each ship listed in the blueprints below. As if this wasn’t enough of a challenge, Confederation scientists are required to perform aerodynamic miracles under the urgency of an ongoing war and in conditions hampered by scarcity of trained personnel and occasional material shortages. Despite these obstacles, these men and women are responsible for creating the most devastating flying weapons of destruction imaginable.
