Disable Dead Zone override ? was created by dricks
Hi,

First of all, i would like to say a big THANKS for this outstanding game.

Nevertheless, i'm experiencing an annoying problem related to the Joystick dead zones.
I'm using a X52pro stick, and the control panel allows me to setup finest dead zones, but when i launch WCSaga, the ingame DeadZone setup seems to override the control panel ones, which make my craft slowly going left.
To overcome this, i have to go ALT+TAB to desktop, and setup again the dead zone, which override the ingame setting. But doing that, i loose my BindingProfile, and to have it again, i have to quit and launch again the game.

So, i actually have to choose between :
Option 1 : Steering left, BindingProfile OK, and very reactive Stick
Option 2 : No steering, but BindingProfile lost, and very reactive Stick
Option 3 : No steering, BindingProfile OK, but less reactive stick (by setting the ingame deadzone to 2)

Is there a way to disable the ingame deadzone so that it does not override those setup in the control panel ?

Welcome on board Dricks :)

Not sure if i understand your problem completely but: you can set deadzone directly in WCS, does this not working for you? Personally i don't need deadzone, i have a Joystick which allows me to disable deadzone completely in WCS.

Tools: Setup ZIP Check & UnZip ...and more
HowTo's: Joystick: configure throttle and rudder ...and more
Projects: WCS+ ...and more

Hi Luke :)

In fact, it seems that the dead zone setting override the dead zone setting of the windows control panel as soon as you launch the game (or at least enter space)
For example, if i set a big dead zone on every axis in the windows control panel, and that the deadzone setting in WCSaga is set to the min (1 illuminated circle), i end up having no dead zone at all, which means that the windows cp setting has been overrided by WCSaga deadzone setting.

The problem is that you can do fine tuning in the windows control panel, but not in the WCSaga settings.

Ok, fine tuning is the problem in this case. Thx for explain this.

I searched in several sources, inclusive FSO documentation to find a solution. But i found nothing for completely disable the dead zone setting. And personally i don't need a deadzone in WCS (or any other game), so i set it completely to zero in WCS and all other games.

At this point i can't help, sorry. You must wait for other posts.

You're welcome. Maybe you can ask KeldorKatarn via PM, he is the main developer. But it's hard to reach him.

I have the Thrustmaster T.16000 with contact free "Hall Effect" technology. But your X52 Pro also have this technology (only a few Joysticks in the market have this) and you must set a deadzone?
