Installation Failed Error 32 [SOLVED] was created by featherodd
Can't seem to get the game to install...
I downloaded the darkest-dawn-setup.zip torrent via www.gamershell.com/download_87172.shtml
The zip checks out using the CRC tool (darkest-dawn-setup_zip-check-unzip.exe), but on clicking "Unzip now..." I instantly get the following message:
That said 7zip seems to decompress darkest-dawn-setup.zip just fine, but on running darkest-dawn-setup.exe I am greeted by the following message about 1/4 of the way through install:
Any help fixing this would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome on board featherodd 
rc 9 means: "the specified zipfiles were not found."
That's very strange because the tool gives you the possibility to unzip the WCS zip only, if this file exists AND if the MD5 check was 100% correct. But if i see the Error 23 from the WCS installer as addition to the RC 9, it seems that your harddrive have a problem. In german forum we have also a few rare cases "like" this (not exactly) and there the harddrive was the problem.
If the Zip can not be unzipped with the WCS-ZIP-Check-Unzip-Tool, there must be a heavy problem and it's very unlikely that other tools can handle the problem. Like in this case.
Can you test this on another partition? I mean copy the zip to another partition and try to unzip it there.

Luke: Thanks for the reply man. I actually just got the game to install.
Turns out I had a bunk RAM module. After I posted the issue, tabs in Chrome started crashing, then I got a couple BSOD and got to diagnosing...
After running Memtest86+, clearly one of my ram dimms was crazy messed up. I narrowed it down to the first 4GB dimm of the second (
memory channel (4x4GB dual channel config).
Im thinkin anytime that sim started getting filled was when all these crazy errors showed up and as long as my overall ram usage was below 4GB, everything seemed normal. So I ripped out two modules incl. the bunk one and no more errors in Memtest86+, plus I just got Wing Commander Saga to install. I still couldnt get the CRC utility to unzip it for me but whatev, I was clearly having much larger issues.
Gonna go try and play WCS. Super stoked man!! I remember flipping through a magazine when I was a kid and seeing an ad for Wing Commander III with Mark Hamill standing dead center. Did a double take realizing that it wasnt for movie but a sequel to one of my favorite video games, freaking Wing Commander! You guys are awesome !

Yes, it was clear to me that there must be a big problem.
Dammit! :shock: I have done several tests after reading this and i found a bug in my tool. I will fix it ASAP and attach the fixed tool here in your thread. Can you do me a favor and test the updated tool later?
