Ambient Light

Enjoying the game so far with one major exception, I can't see much of anything unless I'm between the sun and the object in question. While realistic the end result is that I am literally crashing into capital ships that I didn't know where there and lose track of enemy fighters extremely easily. Also coming at an enemy ship from a side angle from the local light-source gives me a strange array of oddly lite poly's giving me no idea if what is in front of me is a freighter plodding through the mission space or an enemy destroyer getting ready to light my ass up. My favorite side effect from this is when launching at the beginning of the mission my squad-mates vessels are essentially black cutouts of there fighters in the hanger-bay.

Is there any way to increase the ambient light in the missions to make everything more visible?

You can turn up your gamma correction in the settings, other than that there isn't much you can do.

Are you sure about that? Can't some lighting gizmo be done through command lines , or has that feature been disabled in WCS?

EDIT - OK, the launcher doesn't seem have any "command line" box anywhere, so I'm guessing its off.

Check the "Brightness" setting from the in game control, it should be set to at least 1.0 anything less than that and it starts getting pretty dark.
