In some missions (perfect example and current point I can't get past due to it) like Hyperion 4, staring at most cap ships results in performance shooting down in to single digits. Sometimes, when I stop changing my angle of view and stare straight at the cap ship in question, the performance will go back to normal, others, it will just stay choppy until I look away.

This is tolerable for dog fight missions, but I've got to stop CShip missiles... That's impossible right now, even in the Excal :(

Have already tried disabling GLSL, running lower settings blah blah blah, [EDIT]Thought it was fixed, but it persists once you get to the armageddon and have to dogfight with the bombers. Problem resolves itself at times with lighting level 3 with GLSL disabled, but looks crap :(

I would believe it to be an unfixable issue if it were persistent, but being that it only happens when looking at cap ships... No fun.

PC Specs

i7 2700k @ 4.4gh
12gb DDR 1600 (One stick DOA, need to send it off, before anyone asks why i'm asymmetrical on a Dual Channel system)
ATI HD 7970 @ Stock

Currently running the Catalyst 12.3's as of March 30th

I can upload a video if it would help.

Yep. Definitely forgot to reply after getting a couple more missions in ;)

You should definitely compile an ATI hot fix patch and give it 3 options in the installer

ATI OGL dll file (Should fix 90% of issues by the looks of it :D )
Disable GLSL
Rock fix (Stupid asteroids XD )

That DLL is a god send, and my googling never hinted it would fix anything. Without the random wisdom, I would have rage quit and stopped playing ;)
