Can't glide in hellcat?

Name says it all. No matter what I bind Toggle Gliding to I can't get it to engage in my hellcat - I am in the second mission of the main campaign.

Only the Arrow & Excalibur can glide.

if you need glide to take down cap ships in motion might i recommend matching speed and gnawing on the engines(the engine wash is harmless)

Engine wash isn't quite harmless; it will slowly erode your hull (bypassing shields), especially if you're really close. It can even kill you if you've previously taken damage and only have a few % points of hull left. But mostly it just screws with your aim.
