First, if you are alone for translate WCS into French?

Short: If yes, forget it!

Long: You need a complete team. We at www.wcsaga.org work since summer 2013 on german translation and i think we can finish our work this year. Our team had a maximum of 14 members, currently 11.

The minimum you need:
1 tech guy, better 2 for the technical part.
2 translators, better 3
Several testers, minimum 3-4

The tech guy must be willing to learn the mod basics. A good start for this is the HLP Wiki . There exists no simple-to-use-do-all-technically-stuff-automatically-translation-tool. And the text for translation is really giant. Look at the official informations for some basic data.

Sounds a bit harsh, but that's the facts.

Yes, it is. Try to find more members who can help you with the several aspects of a WCS translation project. I learned it all by scratch and after several weeks i got more and more little successes and i learned further the next months. And i am still learning since 2012. My english is much too poorly for work as translator in our team, but the world of bits and bytes is exactly mine.

Some data of WCS:

• Over nine hours of voice dialogue.
• Approximately 70 cut scenes for a total of about 90 minutes of pre-rendered footage (not counting in-flight communications and command briefings).
• Over 60 voice actors, some of whom are actual professionals.
• 221 voice acting roles.
• 55 missions.
• 11.000 lines of dialogue.

Since approximately a half year our team have the needed routine to work very efficient and all members know exactly what's to do. But since 2013 we needed a lot of time and hard work and we had to solve a lot of problems to get this experience. It's a big job you can't do alone.

my understanding of English is sufficient for me to play but I wanted to help make known this game in France because i play wing co since the first !!!

I understand you very well. That's the main cause why Arrow and me founded our team and project: to bring WCS to the german players which have only a bit or no english knowledge because we love WCS and we are Wing Commander fans.

Have you technical skills? If yes, then it will be a good start to first unpack all WCS content so you can see the complete technical world behind WCS.

Yes, we also translate only text and make subtitles for the videos. Voice is impossible for our team. For this a complete new team is needed, lot of good voice actors and professional equipment. And we have simply no time for that.
