Howdy!

The skippers decloack after a set amount of time. There's a brief window of opportunity that you can easily take them down. I reckon its roughly halfway between the corvette and the Battleaxe/Kinney. Once you take out the first one, stay near that area as the others will pass at roughly the same place. Think of yourself as the goalie, let your wingmen do their own thing.

I wouldn't recommend trying to intercept them as they're fired from the corvette, they can get past you easily that way. Also, if one does get away from you, fly straight at the capship it's intended for. It puts you directly behind it, if you maintain the right speed. You'll have a second chance to take the skipper out just before impact.

Though you can always destroy the launchers on the corvettes, havent done it though.
Hope that helps!

You can't save the Kinney no matter what... I'm not sure if it's intentional that it puts you 500,000km from it, you will use up all of your afterburner fuel before you even reach it. Seems like it might be unintentional, maybe they meant for it to be a much shorter distance. I ended up having to try the mission twice, and the second time, I just walked away from my computer for a while, and let the AI wingmates afterburn in take care of everything (they appear to have unlimited afterburner fuel). Save your fuel, don't burn it all trying to catch up with the Kinney. You'll need it for the skipper missiles.

As for the skipper missiles, wait for em to decloak and use "B" to target them as soon as you see em on the radar (yellowish/greenish dot). At the most, you'll probably only have to deal with 2 or 3 of em. Try to get a missile lock, and fire. Even if it cloaks again after your missile is fired at it, the missile will still find it.

btw when you get to the first mission with Blue Point station, remember to use "U" to target the transport ships and destroy them ASAP. I had a lot of trouble with that one too, before discovering the "U" key.

Yeah, I really think the WCS could have added more hints to their various directives. We've had people not engaging autopilot, and now people not knowing they are actually supposed to glide (alt+g) to the kinney. Is there even a reminder that the Arrow is one of the very few fighters able to glide?
*puts "try to improve WCS" back to the TODO list*

lol I forgot all about gliding. But thanks, I wasn't sure what key it was to glide.

*edit* btw can the Excaliburs in this game cloak, like in WC3?

I didn't think so.

But at any rate, this is an absolutely wonderful game, and the time and effort put into it really shows. I've been recommending WCS to people everywhere.

Thanks for this awesome game. :)

*edit* BTW I changed the default ALT-G to glide to CAPSLOCK. That was the original key for it in WC3 and WC4, and it's a lot more conveniently placed near the afterburn TAB key.
