I was wondering, before I really got involved with the campaign of this game, if it was possible to use SCPs Speech Recognition systems in this game? I greatly enjoy using that system, and prefer it to using the key commands. Can I use it with Wingcommander Saga in any way?
If it doesn't work, the most likely reason is simply that the feature wasn't compiled into the build. With the source code available it might be possible to recompile the builds and this time turn on the voice recognition option so that it does work.
Only issue is that I can't do it (don't have the code or even Visual Studio on this PC) so you'll need the help of someone who can build the code if you can't do it yourself.
Well. Like I said. From what I've gotten from playing with it in Freespace, it's worked remarkably well, and I haven't seen anything in Wing Commander Saga that would indicate that, if it works in Freespace, it shouldn't work in WCS.
It is not included in the current WCS engine, so it don't work actually. Please note that WCS isn't FSO. If my information is correct, then WCS was forked from FSO in 2010 and since them, both are really different development branches. FSO have features that WCS doesn't have and vice versa. And with the current WCS+ branch a lot of changes and additions comes to the WCS branch.
