Still no linux port?

So, any news at all on the linux port?

The devs seemed to be quite optimistic about it last year, so I still check back once in a while. But from what I can see there has been almost total radio silence for quite some time now, so maybe there will never be linux/mac ports? At least they should change the FAQ then :/

A: Yes.

Well it's technically possible to run it on Linux now cause someone has ported WCS back to the main FSO branch now.

You can find details on that here . You'd need to install the game using Windows (or maybe Wine) first and then you should be able to use any Linux executable to play it.

It should be playable on a Mac too once you can get it installed.

By the way, I heard about the source code release some time ago.

Any update on that front?
Perhaps it's a good time to do that as some one is working on bring the change back in the FS Open trunk code

I've heard nothing about a source code release since Tolwyn's post in mid-June.

Tolwyn is on vacation right now and we're both hung up with real life issues, but we'll get to it.
