Killing Aces...

I am up to the first mission where you can kill Firehawk, can someone please tell me any other way to kill this guy. Is he on a set timer before he afterburns out, or when he is damaged to a certain degree. I am playing with a Game controller, and I just don't have the skills I used to have with a Joystick, I can't find mine :/

Do you get anything special for killing the ACES?

iirc there is only one or two aces you can actually kill in the campaign, as most of them are canonically killed elsewhere.

Dralthi Ace:[spoiler:1vzlv19d]Err, I don't actually remember, I think you might be able to kill him.[/spoiler:1vzlv19d]
Strahka Ace:[spoiler:1vzlv19d]You chop off his wing, but he cloaks away.[/spoiler:1vzlv19d]
Paktahn Ace:[spoiler:1vzlv19d]Escapes through a jump point. (Although someone told me he managed to kill him before he jumped out)[/spoiler:1vzlv19d]
Vaktoth Ace:[spoiler:1vzlv19d]You face him quite a few times before finally getting a chance to kill him.[/spoiler:1vzlv19d]
