Bombers inside capship shields

I'm in that awful mission near the end I guess. It's the mission where
[spoiler:2b1u91t7]the Valkyrie wing gets destroyed by Deathfang.[/spoiler:2b1u91t7]
I'm trying to beat that one for over a week already. Today I FINALLY managed to get to the Bradshaw AND defend her against the fighters and bombers. There were 3 bombers left in the very end - I thought "No problem, let's get them, finally this is over". I killed one of them, before I noticed that the other 2 are literally sitting inside the Bradshaws shields and I have little to no chance to actually hit them.... Of course during this time, they locked on to the Bradshaw and fired their torpedoes at point blank range - boom, mission failed.

The hell? This mission is long, complicated and has its moments, where it seems to be mostly luck if you succeed or not. For example, the Thunderbolts sometimes won't take out the Kilrathi cruiser at all. At other times, I'm just unlucky and get ripped apart by Sorthak turrets, Kilrathi fighter fire and their missiles while intercepting torpedoes and the bombers themselves and trying to dodge missiles at once. I'm in just one ship and I can't give orders to my wing, so this mission is really scratching on the "unfair" mark imo. Is the "bombers inside capship shields" thing a bug? Or is the mission meant to be this unfair?

No, thats not a bug. You can do that as well. Just fly under the shields yourself and blast them.

hitting "b" does not give you the closest bomber so pay attention to which group is closest to the Bradshaw and hit them first and don't forget your tachyon guns they rip through bomber shields like they are nothing

I guess I was more lucky than anything else, also changed tactics on the Sorthaks a little bit. The only way to not get ripped apart by their turrets seemed to use a Spiculum IR while firing the guns empty at them, which usually takes one of those out. Then AB away, let guns reload and repeat. With a full loadout of Spiculum IRs instead of anything else, it worked. I also diverted all engine energy to weapons and shields.

Had problems with the asteroid Mission untill I decided to do just that: touch down on the Carrier, take out possibly dangerous guns and then goodbye Kitty Cat...

seriously slipping under the Shields is the best tactic against Capships if you don't have Torpedos the only thing you have to think of is your Energy balance: shields up, engines down and everything is well.
