[spoiler:3b5ytpaq]Is it possible to save the Wellington? If so - why do you end the game if it blows up earlier?[/spoiler:3b5ytpaq]

[spoiler:1toxoq21]The Wellington can't be saved. However, if she dies at the jump point, 2 Confed Cruisers rescue you and your wingmen. If you lose the Wellington before Nav 4, there's no one to save you.
Btw those 2 cruisers also appear in the novel "False Colors".[/spoiler:1toxoq21]

Exactly this. The Wellington is lost no matter what you do. but if you don't make it to the jump point, you and your friends are also toast. And you can't really continue your career if you're dead, right? ;) [/spoiler:33538ez1]

Fair enough. I was just wondering if I was watching the "losing track" version of the mission. I spent 3 hours yesterday trying to save that stupid ship!!! LOL

There will be some missions you just cannot win. A good indication is that a total failure will not let you progress in the campaign. If you are still in doubt however, click on "recommendations" in the debriefing. Depending on what they say you'll get a pretty good idea whether you have failed or just couldn't have done anything more.

I was tempted, but then the speech Kettle gave us convinced me to stay and die fighting. :D
