I didnt see any good off topic to plop this in and I was kinda expecting to see some sort of news about this on the website's frontpage so here I drop it.
Chris Roberts is off to make one kickass mother of a MMO Game with some serious Wing Commander flavor (the initial trailer has like 5 WC easter eggs)

The Roberts Space Industries site is back up now and as of writing this the total pledges come to $1,030,490 out of a goal of $2 million, but according to Roberts the drive lost a lot of momentum due to the technical difficulties on the site."We were tracking to do well over $1 million on the first day until things blew up," Roberts said in an interview with Polygon. "I'm pretty confident we would have been over $2 million by now."
He added that "fundraising is still pretty impressive, considering being down for 50 per cent of the days we could have been raising money."
The Kickstarter is only looking to raise $500,000 i.e. about half of the needed $1 million left. Any money raised via Kickstarter will be noted on the Roberts Space Industries site as well, and all donation will be tied to one's account there.
Have to agree, I wanted to post about this as well but also could not find a proper category.
I think it's only fitting that there be a reference to Star Citizen here. The SC forum has a WC Saga thread that's several pages long already.

- Vega sector - Bengal class carrier - Kilrathi logo on the screen representing the attacking enemy ships.
Which others did you see?
Been a couple days since I watched it but the Kurasawa system was also on the WC map iirc
edit: Just found out the fighters coming off that carrier are called 'hornet's 😁

at 2:49 is the best view, a confed star in the hologram 😊 The uniforms also look very WC3/4

WOW... just WOW... The game is on track to make the 5.5million streatch goal. If they do that then we can own our own Bengal Class Carriers!! 😁 😁
edit: The pulled just over 6million thats over 2x the initial asking amount!!
