[Request] Higher Resolution UI
Hi, I'm playing on the 1680x1050 resolution and the UI is kinda blurry (stretched). Is it possible to make the ship controls and the text before missions a little higher resolution? It's pain to read it and the problem must be worse on even higher resolutions.
I'm running 1920x1080 and am having no problem with stretching or text. Maybe something you can play with in your windows screen settings?
Could you upload a screenshot of the text story before a mission?
You're talking the narrative in the prologue or the post-briefing summary? I'll see what I can do on both.
Here's the briefing summary page:

I see you're running in a 16:10 ratio. Is that your native resolution? I ask because of the stretching or compressing that would occur using a different ratio than the monitor is designed for.
I'm having the same issue. Monitor is native at 1920x1080, but the picture is very fuzzy and stretched. I tried a variety of different choices, but oddly, they all looked the same.
I'm running dual monitor, but disconnected the secondary, and restarted Windows. The result was the same.
I play 16:10 1680x1050, too. And I don't know it any other way since playing FSO. Yes the text looks a bit stretched and flat. There are some technical limitations of the "old" engine that are very difficult to overcome. I guess the effort is not worth the result. 😉
Hmm... I'm running 1920x1080 with dual monitor. Maybe it's the fact I'm still on XP.. : shrug: I'm having no issues with the graphics aside from my movie stuttering on program launch, and that's just an alt-tab away from fixing itself. Then again, this game seems to love NVidia cards.
It's rather ATI seems to hate OpenGL.

The stretching comes with the resolution. I don't believe it has anything to do with ATi.
BTW and offtopic: YAY, 4x edge detect antialiasing via ATi catalyst looks SO great. Just 4x MSAA does not seem to work, but edge detect does the trick. ➡️
