A BIG THANK YOU !!!
As a old school "Wing Commander" fan and gamer I just wanted to take the time to say THANK YOU to the Incredible Team behind WC:Saga . Also as a fellow modder and industry veteran I know how hard it is to organize and pull off a project of this size. You've all done a BRILLIANT job and I truly can't wait to get my hands on the release tomorrow.
My first Wing Commander experience came on the Super Nintendo console port of the first WC. Next was WC:Secret Missions. Then came Privateer and Privateer 2. The last official WC title I played was WC:Prophecy. Of course I know WC:Saga isn't technically "Official" but it's close enough in my book to count as such. Since I found out about WC:Saga just a few days ago I've been devouring every bit of information on it as I can and I must say the game looks AMAZINGLY well done.
Just know that there are plenty of us old school aces out here in Confederation Space that appreciate all the hard work and effort that has went into WC:Saga. Thank You for giving us the ability to re-live those old memories of fighting the Kilrathi once again. If you guys accept donations or anything please let me know.
Congrats on the completion and eminent release of your endeavor. You all shall go down in Wing Commander history and the Terran Confederation owes you all a mighty debt.

Ditto. I have been watching this for a little while... 10 years.. that is dedication to a old great title. The original Wing Commander was one of my first games (I remember trying to find a Sound Blaster card just so I could enjoy it more)... and the WC games I still rate in my all time favorites (WC, WC II, Privateer, WC Prophecy, WC Armada and even Privateer 2).
Thanks guys / gals and your furry friends. I look forward to the release tomorrow morning.
Hi All!!
I totally agree!!. The WC series was for me the reason to buy a new PC so that I could play all the games in max 😁.
Really looking forward to this one!!
WOW it´s so amazing!!! I can´t wait to download the game today! Still remember back in the days as a young boy 😁 playing WC1 & WC2 also later the Privateer Games and WC3. Never had so much fun playing on my old 386 and 486 like in those days. Also a really big THANK YOU ➡️ ➡️ from my side for bringing back that good old feeling. Keep up the good work!!!!
I have to concur with all that has been said before WC was the BEST out at the time and I just loved the games, pity the film sucked vacuum hard.... Does anyone know where I could get a copy of privateer for the PC?
I agree. Ten years of hard work and then releasing a game like this for free...you're already a god among modders! *g*
Less then 7 hours left, can't wait! 😁 Guess the normal servers will be rather busy, I hope some people could setup a torrent for this. I'd be willing to share as long as possible. 😊
A big thanks from me too.
I would also like to say Thank You to Anton and the rest of the development team. It has been a thrill for me to record videos for you all to enjoy and to help pass the time over until this milestone and, in my opinion, a historic day for wing commander and the modding community arrives. I did my best to give an interesting first look without giving too much away by failing missions and taking them in odd directions.
SO.. to everyone who watched my deep and heartfelt thank you. To the Dev team thank you for trusting me to not leak this game out. And to Anton for working with me and for all the information about the development of this wonderful addition to the Wing Commander mythos.
Quick joke for ya.. What do you get when you mix some nutjob crazy Germans and an outdated game engine? Pure Awesomeness!
The biggest thank you from me. I have all the Wing Commander games including Privateer and still playing it using gog.com. You guys did an excellent job and I feel reborn in the Wing Commander Universe.
Thank you, thank you!!!!
WHOW incredible! I just downloded the demo, but before playing I wanted to say: Thank you, to the team that built this game!!!! I cant wait to play it!
While the game is installing I want to take the time to thank you guys for this massive afford. I truly hope this will prove the genre (and the series) still lives and more will follow!
Btw is there somewhere I can give you guys some money? I would have gladly paid for this game! I'll search the site as soon as it is up and running again 😊
If you've played the demo version and you are impressed with it, expect to get blown away with the full game.
I just find out about WCSaga a few days ago and like every fan of WC out there, "THANK YOU" for all your hard work to recreate WC for a new generation. I am downloading the game right now and I just wanted to share old memories how the first WC converted me to become a PC gamer in a time when the Amiga and Atari ST dominated the computer gaming of the early 90s. Thanks to you, I can now stop praying and wishing that Chris Roberts/EA decided to made a remake of our favorite series.

Don't forget to tell your friends and most of all, come back and tell us about your ride 😉

I'll be pimping this game out to just about every gamer I know because they're all Wing Commander fans. 😁
Hi,
Just a little message for giving to your team a big Thank You. I've played all the Wing Commander (and i have kept all the original box from Wing Commander to Prophecy), and after finishing the two first mission of the darkest dawn campaign, i remember my youngest day and the game feeling of the first episode of this saga. Thanks a lot.
Pierre.
Thanks guys!!!
I learned about the project way back in 2003, and it's just freaking awesome to see you guys actually made it happen!! I'm an old school WC fan from back when the first game came out on the PC, and this is just incredible. All the best to you guys - you made a lot of people happy today.
Agreed. This is pretty amazing.
Thank you for your time, dedication and perseverance.
I haven't even downloaded it yet... But i wanted to add a my thanks to this thread. I saw an article on my Game arena (my ISP's game page) and followed the link here. The writer suggested he might ask you guys if Bigpond can host the files for you, which would be great as Bigpond is a nation wide (Australian) ISP and has pretty much unlimited bandwidth...
Loved the Wing Commander games when they were released and can't wait to play this 😊
Old skool fan.
Thanks!
Prologue playing at the moment. Experience = Cool.
Would like to express sincere gratitude for so remarkable project, saddens it roofing felt that that I very badly know English and game to me is given with great difficulty. Good luck to you. The signature - the fan from Russia. 😊
+1
I had never truly heard of Wing Commander, nor had the want to play it. But as soon as I found out about this, I instantly knew this was going to be my GOTY. Having a purely fan made game on such a massive scale is quite a first as well
Just registered the board to say thank you.
I was crazy enough to participate to another game mod (Ultima V Lazarus), so I can tell you guys are also to have worked so much and so well !
You made an awesome game, bringing back great memories for Wing Commander fans. And congratulations for being able to make this game up to the final release !
big up for you all !
Thanks, and let's get back to the game 😊

Cool. A former member of Project lazarus is a work-colleague of mine now 😊 We're working at the same gaming company.
just wanna WHAT THE YOU DID A NEW WING COMMANDER thank you.
unbelievable, but i just heard about your project a few days ago.
and i love you for putting such effort in bringing us a new era, a new part of wing commander.
thank you so much, thank you.
i mean, developemt about 10 years? wtf... finally, FINALLY a fan project that took a long time to complete, AND a project that finally was completed and finished!!!. SO much thanks for this, you guys, everyone of you, are HEROES to every wing commander fan.
love you, love you alll, and thanks.

Greetings from Munich!
hey, your trailer was the first thing i saw about this project, and it just blew me away, especially your choice for music makes this trailer just that awesome as it is. i never heard from "shockwave sound" so far, but they are least on the same level like "two steps from hell", "x-ray dog" and so on, very good choice belonging to music. in combination with the gameplay graphics you showed us, the "texting passages", what more can you want for a good game-trailer? nothing.
its just perfect. the visuals. the music. great job!!
A tid bit of information on the trailer, I've had several people who do not play computer games and some who are even slightly opposed to them watch the trailer. In every case the response was along the lines of WOW, that was done by fans of the game! You could sell this stuff.
Just wanted you to know that the trailer has made an impact even on nongamers...thanks for the hard work, blood, sweat and tears that went into making it.
An additional big THANKS!!!!! from a long-time fan. Played WC1 on the SNES back in '92 or so. Bought my first comp in '98 and fell in love with WC:Prophecy. Spent the next couple of years picking up WC: 2,3, and 4... I even remember being in CompUSA and seeing the WC4 displays way back... God I'm old.
You've brought happiness to this old wingnut's soul and a smile to his face. That's probably the largest praise I can think to heap on any entertainment project.
Another big THANK YOU from me.
I thought the action-scifi-sim genre was dead and i gave und and sold my joystick last month... But then your mod was realeased, i read an article about it on gamestar and i was stunned. My PC was too slow to play the WC games in the 90s so I never enjoyed the whole cutszene storyline and dogfight action thing. I first experienced how awesome this genre was with FS1 and FS2. You gave a whole group of genrefans hope again i guess!
What i like in particular is the voice acting you provided for the game, the story told in the prologue texts and later on and the in flight dialogues. You really get the feeling that you know your wingmen and you care if you see them getting shot but the damn Cats 😊 Maybe you get a job at volition and code FS3 for us ? 😊)
again Thank you !
I had to add my thanks as well. While I had heard of WC I played Xwing vs Tie Fighter, Starlancer and a few other space sims. For a few years all space sims have dried up. You pilots that have been thru the series have an advantage to I would like to learn quickly because this is one awesome game. My jstick has 14 buttons and still not enough. I'm a 65 year old man and can't even remember what keys I programmed where. lol They say the mind is the second thing to go and I can't remember the first. Again thanks so much.
The best thanks you guys can give us is play the game, then come back here and discuss your favorite moments with us and also tell us what we could do better next time we might make someting like this (but no, it won't be for free next time and it won't be another Wing Commander 😉 )
I shall Echo the OP as well, did not see this thread yesterday and made my own thanks thread but both are as valid 😊
Cheers!
I'm an old man and haven't BOUGHT a game in years. Mainly because I lose interest quickly. If this game would allow CO-OP mode for the 50 missions, I would buy it in a minute. But please don't make it a pay to play game as my wife would kill me with another bill every month. I can see years of playing this game in CO-OP mode. I have recently re-installed Starlancer and have played the 24 missions again for over 100 times each. I wish I could code like my son. He could help you guys and maybe you would give me a Senior discount. lol Don't let us down like Microsoft and Lucasarts did. You guys are sitting on a gold mine. 50k copies in 24 hours should tell you something.
If you guys are look for a beta tester for CO-OP mode, Please let me know. I'm retired and have lots of time.
This game will never cost you anything. coop however I cannot promise but we'll see.
Just registered to express my thanks as well! It's been ages since I played Wing Commander, but when I heard about this; I had to get it. I've played a few mission so far; and it's been great fun. Thank you so much!
Really a great game you created there. Been too long since the last Wing Commander was release but happy that people who really put their heart in it made WCS - and it shows. Thank you very much!
I have just finished the game. Even bought a Joystick again just to play it properly! 😉
It is truly unbelieveable what kind of quality you've pulled off with this, the voice over alone.. stunning.
You have my sincere thanks for releasing this, as Wing Commander Saga ROCKS!
Oh, and as I might be the first to have tested this, it works flawlessly on Windows XP Professional x64 Edition! 😊
I think I'm gonna go through the Campaign again, just for the fun it provides. I was a BIG fan of Wing Commander III as a child, and I loved Wing Commander Armada. Now, after WC3, this is my second most favorite Wing Commander Game ever! Maybe it's becoming the absolute favorite after I have looked at the actual graphics of WC3 again. 😉
We are very happy you enjoyed the campaign!
Wing Commander 1 was my first video game. Picture a five year old fresh off Starwars, looking in amazement at a cinematic masterpiece about space tigers. What you've done is transported me back to 1990. Thank you.
I'm about six missions into the main game and am completely blown away. You've successfully recreated the feeling of the original game. The Ride of the Valkyries and Fort missions are amazing. Wonderful, wonderful work.
Thank you to all the developers and mods of this forum.
thank you for the AWESOME game, all your hard work, and especially the bomber grinding it made me appreciate when they cut me lose and said "kill all the fighters and be back before dark" like in the battle where you kill deathfang Spoiler (click to reveal)
I'm in the atmo thinking "gotta protect the dropships" and then i look around and they are not there then I look at my mission objective and "kill kilrathy fighters" is highlighted 😮 and I'm like "OH YEAH! IT IS ON! DIE FURBALLS!!!" 😛 then deathfang shows up and venom says "it ends here" and I'm like 😁 "best day ever!"
