FYI, it's the classic DOS version running in DOSbox 0.73 (no idea why they aren't using 0.74).

Finally I know what Vacuum Breather stands for - Fleet Action ftw 😊 Since a full e-book of Fleet Action is bundled with GOG's WC3-Release I began to read it a few days ago and now I know where some of the ideas/the inspiration for WC Saga came from.

Not just Fleet Action - Saga incorporates ideas from various sources, Fleet Action is just one of them.

Sure, I didn't mean that it's the only source, but it's the only WC book I have read so far and I noticed some similarities 😉

Insta-buy for me. Downloading now. I loved that game so much. Anyone know if I have to do anything special to get it to run? Windows 7 pro 64 bit here.

It uses DOSbox, so it should work just fine without further adjustments. It's sure not running as smooth as back in the days but it comes pretty close. Also, you might wanna use another emulated sound card than the Soundblaster 16. I post a link about this later.

Thank you! Seems to be working on my rig at work, ill try my home one later. I know it uses SVGA but is there another way to access higher resolutions? I assume there is not.

It worked right out of the box. My joystick isnt working though.

That's likely to be a dosbox issue; I'm pretty sure the GoG version of WC3 uses dosbox.

Yea it does. Perhaps i need to switch to USB 2.0 in the bios i am thinking.

I bought it instantly when I discovered WC3 (my FAVORITE all-time game!) but cant play it full screen! It shows up in a post card size window on my PC. I also bought Freespace-2 and a bunch of other great old games because.....I AM OLD! 🙄

Try ALT-ENTER combination or edit the dosbox.conf file (or whatever it's name is, it could be different but the file extension should be *.conf) search for the line

fullscreen=false

and change it to

fullscreen=true
