Does anyone know if there are plans to make a Privateer version of this game? Love the wing commander line of games.

Not possible, the enigine dosen't support privateer style gameplay
First of all that is nonsense. We are professional developers. If the engine doesn't support it, we put it in.
BUT our official answer to this unfortunately has to be "We're not going to produce any more major content for this engine and/or game and/or storyline. Wc Saga is done. Another mamoth project like this is totally out of the question"

I can understand it means a lot of work, sacrifice of private time and then in the end hear some unthankfull creatures only critizing you... but not all gamers are that way.
Well no matter if you will never make a Privateer Saga, I say thanks for this Saga! It is amazing!!!
Yeah it would be great, but it would require a lot of coding, so I don't think it is going to happen anytime soon. Not in this engine.
Sorry to have to dissapoint you, but this project was already a majorly crazy project. Don't think of this as something that you have to spend some private time on. You spend ALL your time on it. For years. And that is just prohibitingly crazy without getting anything back for it.
You may see another project from us, but it will be an IP by us and owned by us, nothing in the WC universe, I'm very sorry about that, but it's simply impossible to do. When we started this we were still studying, in the final year I was working full time while also doing the beta test, that were 80-100h weeks and that was NOT fun. And now we're both working full time, so it's simply not possible at all. Even if we wanted to. We don't have the time.
