Hyperion 1

Wanted to continue the greenlighting but couldn't fight the urge to test out the Excalibur in battle. I have to say just WOW. The mission is a nice introduction to capabilities of the new fighter. Jumping into enemy controlled system (new music creates a great mood when you jump in, nicely done ➡️ ) wiping the Kilrathi scum out of space was never easier - with Excalibur's auto aiming + gliding you plow through your enemy with tremendous ease. Nevertheless the battle at Nav 1 gets pretty intense. After that the inspection of assigned navpoints is just a formality with the twist of encountering an ace at last navpoint (which I think I was able to destroy which shouldn't happen - the scripted escape didn't worked, but I have to check this again to be sure, then will post a mantis ticket if confirmed). Very nice mission. Now up to the next - I just can't get enough of my new shiny toy 😁 .
Now THAT is not supposed to happen. How did you manage to do that?

As far as I recall, he can't be damaged below certain treshold. Plus he will use his usual tactic to run...

I haven't seen any problems with Deathfang escaping. He says that he'll return and cloaks his Vaktoth. But I agree with Damson about the mission. The music is wonderful and flying the Excalibur is lots of fun. I haven't found any issues yet but I'll let you know if I find any.
Fun to get back into the seat of the Excalibur. This mission is an excellent lead in to using the fighter and it really explores it's capabilities and does so in a dramatic way too!
This mission is a lot tighter than I remember it being. Everything works much more seamlessly. Cleared the initial wave of fighters and then blasted the remaining turret mines before the battle really heated up. I've learned my lesson wherever there are Confed capital ships around there are usually waves of Kilrathi bombers headed for them...so I prioritized the Pakthan bombers and went after them first.
The ace dogfight wasn't too challenging on Easy but I imagine it was on the harder levels.
The ace fight would be challenging without auto aim, but with it it is a piece of cake most of the time.
