There drew he forth the brand Excalibur

This is it folks, that was it for the Hellcat, Arrow, Thunderbolt and Longbow. From here on out we'll kick some ass with Excalibur!

Can't wait to try it out! Bring on the PAIN! 😁

As I said already, I'm looking forward to fly this baby and to kick some bad[beep] with some Tachyon- and Reaper-Guns.

Cool! The last 14 missions will be Excalibur only?? Will it have the auto-aiming like in WC3?

Yeah. Gameplay is fairly different...

That is one yeah for two questions. For which question is the "yeah" and what is the answer for the other question?

That's a double "yeah".

Thanks! Looking forward to next beta!

If by different you mean there may or may not be a "significant number" of bad guys ... then yes! 😊

But why don´t you unlock the ship and weapon screen? Sometimes, it is nice if i can choosse myself the ship and missiles, instead to leave that to another one. Otherwise: Very impressive, what you´ve made at this point. Count it on, it looks terribly good.

You will be able to select your weapons from M25 on. Ship selection is not possible.

Very much looking forward to taking the Excalibur back out for a good run with it. Beautiful modeling as I've said many times before.

As Tolwyn already mentioned: Weapon selection (or rather missile selection) will be available from m25 on (with one exception where mission specific loadout is enforced).

As for the ship selection, that is a conscious design decision. We considered the free ship selection in WC3 the worst design decision of all the WC games because it made it impossible for the missions to be designed around a specific ship variant like in WC1 and 2. That made the missions in most cases VERY generic. Not talking about the unrealistic situation where pilots jump around from ships to ship like crazy while staying in the same squadron. WC1&2 had much better design both mission and storywise in that aspect. Also I don't know of any mission in WC3 where a ship change made any noticable difference in gameplay, which made it even worse. In Wc4 you had at least some storyplots in there like the Bearcat and Dragon fighter availability.

Since we considere it bad design AND bad story telling for a 2nd Lt to jump from ship to ship just the way he likes it, we decided against this possibility and locked the ships.

Imagine you're flying an escort mission like Mission 9 or 11 and you select a Thunderbolt or a Longbow WTF!? Or worse, you fly Cairo 2 and you are asked to destroy a starbase in an Arrow... or mine a jump point in a Hellcat. Does that make any sense? We didn't think so.

The screen is ready and available for the modders out there but in the main campaign you fly what we let you fly 😉
