Missile warning

What do you think about the missile warning now?

The very intense sound is played once a missile is fired at you. The other one is played as long as it has a lock on you and increases being played in higher and higher frequency if missile manages to come closer.

Tell us what you think and if it is insense enough now and whether it gives you a better awareness of the situation

I think the permanent one is a good warning sound, however the two different sounds are mixed up too much during the battle, so that it sometimes feels like a sound bug to me. They sound too similar imho.

Uh... huh? They don't sound similar at all.

I find that the missile warning sound works has worked very well for me. I think you did a good job with it. ➡️

What I meant was: If they are played without a second or two between them, they mix and sound a bit similar, as they were just one sound and not like two seperate ones. A one-second-delay between them would solve the issue in my opinion.

The second sound doesn't play just once. It plays repeatedly as long as the missile is alive. So it's not a matter of a delay. if you hear them both at once and then never again that usually means the missile was fired at point-blank-range

I see. I knew that the second sound is a repeating one, but I didn't know it depends on proximity when that sound starts. Most of the dogfights I had were at very close range, that could explain the mix-up. Happended pretty often that the Kilrathi fired off their missles pretty late, though.

I like the new tone and as it is obnoxious, it gets my attention. I also like that the closer the missile gets, the quicker the tone repeats, kind of lets me know when I should use countermeasures and when I have to use them to prevent damage. The one drawback is when more than one missile is fired at you, it can get kind of confusing....that's when you hit countermeasures and afterburners and run.

The new warning tone get's the job done - it's annoying so to get rid of it you have to work fast 😁 . But seriously it's getting your attention when it has to and gives good indication of how far the missile is. For me this can be final.

Both sounds are very effective, however they're a bit too loud compared to the rest of the sound effects, that's just my € 0,02 though ^_^

Yeah, they're loud... but in fact sometimes I'm so busy dealing with enemys that I'm happy that there is this annoying sound. Try to play the game without sound... I always get killed by missiles...
