The game needs at least 3.2 GB free memory on the hard drive and 2GB on your Windows partition for the installation procedure.

Once you have the beta client, initiate installation by running setup.exe and follow the prompts to install Wing Commander Saga.  The setup will automatically enable the settings that should allow Saga to run well on your system. Don't forget to modify the video resolution and to install OpenAL if necessary.

Click on the desktop icon labeled "Wing Commander Saga": The game is now ready to run. Double click on the desktop icon labeled "Wing Commander Saga" and you can enjoy the improved graphics and enthralling story.

Create a Pilot: Once the game is running, you will need to create a pilot by entering a name. Then, click on the Tech Room and select "Missions" to begin playing Wing Commander Saga.

any update? 🙄

How dare you to roll eyes? 😛

Upload failed the first time around, but we are not beaten yet!

In the meantime while we all pray for the upload to complete without any hiccups: need a wall-paper? (No pun intended)

Nice but a bit disturbing ... Don't you have a nice wallpaper of a female pilot maybe 😉

We've got our own "Jack Bauer".

Any ETA? Got access to high-speed internet for some hours.

One hours if the upload works this time.

if the upload fails again. shouldnt we consider using torrent? we could pack and lock with a password and then everybody could help redistribute

Thank you, no, thank you. There is a reason why we rent two servers. At any rate, upload is finished, expect a PM in the next few minutes.

download complete! 😊

Where is the download located? Didn't get any PM.

Sent!

Merci. 😁

I was going to suggest that too. Torrents clients are typically light. Can always just keep it seeding for a day or two. =)

Edit: I received no PM either. Maybe you guys just didn't get to me yet. =\

Sent. That should be it though.

Torrents are a big no no for many different reasons (like wasting my bandwidth just to name one) .

What other reasons? They aren't illegal to use. At least here they aren't. Blizzard uses them for their update systems in fact.

I did get the PM. Thank you. It is downloading. =D

They are not illegal to use, that is true. 😉 But they do need time to setup. And lastly, it will take much more time to distribute the client using torrent. It's a simple math.

Well I won't argue with fair logic. =)

Actually the upload did not take that long anyway (around 3 hours for the 2nd attempt), but I do need to sleep from time to time, which is why it took 12 hours in total to get the client online. 😊

LOL. Not a real developer if you sleep from time to time. =P

Crunch = ugh

Let's just say we pulled a nearly 56h shift right before this sleep period, just so you get your download links 😉

Oh I am sure you guys busted arse on that final push their. That is always the rough one. And this is beta. Ooooh, your final... gonna be fuuuuuuuuuuuun. =D

Thanks for the hard work guys. Sleep, and awaken to bug reports. =P

He is not kidding!

OK just get back from work - downloading in progress (and pretty fast too ~1MB/s - that 16Mb/s connection sure pays off). One qustion though - are the next iterations will be uploaded as patches, or do we have to download whole build again each time?

the next few iterations most likely as patches. Most of the necessary data has been included (it is simply deactivated for the purpose of the test)
