Crash in Vega 4 — Forum Archive — Wing Commander Saga

Just wanted to report an engine crash during Vega 4, just after auto-piloting to Nav 2. I think it might have something to do with the cheats, since at the time I was insta-killing some fighters so I could test the missile kill-level debriefs more quickly. I've put the debug.txt from right after the crash below. Also, if this isn't the right place to post a crash report, could someone move this thread and/or tell me where is the right place? Opening a mantis ticket doesn't seem right to me given that it's not something I can re-produce.

Debug.txt has nothing to do with crashes. For that we need fs_open.log if any. But if the crash occured due to cheating I'm not really interested.

Oh, sorry, I didn't realize that. There was no fs_open.log file in any case. I'm not certain that the crash was caused by cheating, but it seems plausible that it was given how stable WCSaga has been in general (this is the first engine crash I've seen).

Hmm... have you checked your Documents/Volition/Wing Commander Saga folder? That's where the log file is usually stored.

Oh, no, I was looking in the game folder; I don't know why I didn't think to look in the Documents folder. There's no fs_open.log file there now, but I've launched the game several times now since the crash, so that's not surprising. At least I'll know where to look next time (if there is a next time). Thanks for the feedback!

ONly the debug build produces logs. But as I said, ig this is cheat related, I'm not really interested at this point. Tell us if you are able to reproduce it without cheats.
