Gameplay video capture

I'm a new tester, and I've seen requests several places on the forums for gameplay videos of first playthroughs. Maybe I just missed it, but I can't seem to find anyone with suggestions of how to capture such videos without paying for a full FRAPS license, which just isn't in the cards for me at the moment (the 30 second videos that the free version of FRAPS is limited do obviously aren't going to cut it).

Would those of you who are recording videos let the rest of us know what you're using and how you're going about it? This would include what capture software, what kinds of settings, any post-processing (i.e. re-encoding/compression) you're using, and how/where you're posting these videos that people can see them.
