Medals When I Restart a Campaign?

I am replaying the Prologue campaign with a previously defined player. After I select 'Restart Campaign' and then fly my first training mission with Kettle, I receive an OCS Graduation medal, as I expected. However, when I check my list of medals and my rank, I am a 2nd Lt, but I am already an Ace and Ace of Aces, and I have not flown a single combat mission yet! I also have 2 OCS Graduation medals. It seems like the state of all medals is not getting reset when you restart a campaign. Just thought you should know.
