Hi

Installation, Patchlevel, OpenGL, Framework, Sound seems all to be ok.

There are possibly two problems:

1) the Shader
2) total performance

Run DBST again, enable the ZIP but without options (no longer needed) and write this in the command-line textbox:

-no_glsl

Then try again and also attach the support ZIP then.

Tools: Setup ZIP Check & UnZip ...and more
HowTo's: Joystick: configure throttle and rudder ...and more
Projects: WCS+ ...and more

Hi,

thx for the rapid response, in fact the problem could not be solved, first caused a complete system crash. next try ended with the same result, some strange yellow stripes in the introduction screen followed by freezing. Any other ideas ?

Attached the the zip from last try

Hmm, it seems the problem is in the GPU environment. He need too much time for processing the frames. And this can be a performance problem. But maybe this is only the symptom.

Another try: please deactivate the window mode and activate the vsync option in the WCS launcher and try again (click RUN)

this also could not fix the problem, might be a problem with the onboard Intel HD grafic. I installed the game on my eee pc with minimum req. a bit bumpy but it works. Not the most elegant way, but I am out of ideas. Anyway, thx a lot for help, best

It is an Intel(R) HD Graphics / 128 MB / Shading language version: 1.40 - Intel Build 6.14.10.5437 /should support OpenGL up to 3.1. (in theory)

Recently I found out that it is possible to interrupt the crash by switching into the options menu F2 and release each 5 seconds. With this I could get into the briefing sequence and finally into the combat game. Most bizarre is the fact, that briefing and combat game are stable even at very high detail level. Only the selection menu crashes each 5 sec. Are the requirements for display of the selection menu that high ??

This is a welcome update to the situation. ;) Because i can say the following to that:

Egmont wrote: Are the requirements for display of the selection menu that high ??

Generally no. With "selection menu" you mean the mainhall? If so: this menu is designed to consume very low CPU time, nearly 0% on my hardware after approximately 1/2 minute. I also observed this issue with high CPU consumption and also that this can be reduced from 100% to nearly 0% if you switch to another menu (like the F2 config screen) and go back. You can also open shortly the techroom and go back to mainhall, that will have the same effect. Or you simply open and close the help overlay (F1) in the mainhall. And if you wait some time, this effect will also happen automatically without switching to another screen. But it seems, not on your hardware.

I started with WCS+ development last autumn so my knowhow about the sourcecode is limited. I can try to find this problem but i don't think that i can make a fast solution.

good job, this explains the situation well. in fact the switch to the techroom or the config screen stops the overload. the combat is working well so far, so its not too bad.
BTW, cant await the german version, crossing fingers ;) best
