Read about WCS in PC Gamer. Looked at Saga FAQs before d/l, which went OK, as did unzipping. Installed WCsaga. Manually checked OpenAL. On start, no sound (no option to change anything, as suggested in forum). Went to forums. Got the Mar 24 sound "fix". Overwrote the .exe file. No change on sound. Hit "run", got this error (in quotes).

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.
To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].'
My basic specs, quad 2.66gig CPU. GForce 9600, current drivers. Hardware sound. Been running modern games just fine. Don't want to fiddle with the registry. Please advise.

Now one year later it still doesnt work. I downloaded the latest version of darkest dawn.
I got win7-64bit, with an xfi soundblaster which does support openal and it still does not show a sound device.
Also I tried the new launcher but it did not change anything except that I can not switch to another soundcard anymore. Before I could but it would not show anything. Seemed like it was software audio because it was producing a frame show when I started it. When I logged out of the game the audio again showed "no soundcard".
