Considering this version of the game took 10 years to make, I wouldn't expect another game with this many missions and this kind of detail to be forth coming anytime in the near future(Developers can correct me if I am wrong). Remember, everyone who worked on this were volunteers and had their normal jobs and lives to plan and work around.

Concerning MMORPG, I wouldn't expect anything on the lines of EVE, but there is talk and an effort to make the game playable by pilots who log onto a server. Again, as this is a free venture, the players may have to be the ones who host the server as the game team doesn't have a budget to pay for server time.

Two ways to contact the developers, post as you have already done (they will read your post eventually) or send a PM to Tolwyn.

Hm, I suppose the most complicated work has already been done, designing ships and altering the source code. So the base work is already done.
What needed to be done would be designing missions, the actual story behind it, rendering cutscenes and doing the voice over.
It shouldn't be that much work, i.e. it wouldn't take another 10 years for another game.

However, if you want to add new ships etc. (what probably would be expected to a pre/sequel), you are back again at the drawing point, where you need to design and model ships first (if they're not already existing elsewhere in an acceptable quality). Which of course will need volunteers and time to create.

And I can totally understand if the current developers have absolutely better things to do after 10 years of development, than designing another game just right now. ;)
(Though I'd love to play more!)

Eh, the Prophecy ships are mostly slight modifications anyway.

First of all, something like this will never happen again. Not without us being payed anyway and that excludes any Wing Commanders unless EA suddenly decides to give us the IP as a gift.

Sorry, but there will NOT be a sequel. This was a one time thing. You might see a game from us in the future but it won't be free and it won't be a Wing Commander.

you thought about trying to use kickstarter to get some funds to help devolep? could really make this game pop if you could get the funds to improve on whats already here and enlist some others.

Guys,

I really am humbled that you guys are itching for a sequel. Main problem is that any sequel is definitely not going to happen, even with Kickstarter.

The reasoning is that most of us have moved on. We all have our own careers, ambitions, and real life. Some of us have families and kids to take care of. Saga was one huge ultra-marathon of effort, drive, initiative, and teamwork that lasted for 10 years. To put in perspective, I started working on the very basic of WC Saga stuff when I was a college senior. Fast forward, I joined the military, lead people, made friends, lost some friends, flew planes, did a tour at a staff HQ, almost got killed (fun time that was), and I'm attending a top ranked university for my MBA.

If anything, anything you see from here on out will be mopping up, "after action" stuff so to speak. Finishing stuff here and there, website, patches, stuff like that. I wouldn't have changed anything I've worked on in WC Saga in the past 10 years, it taught me a bit about marketing, entrepreneurship, industry analysis of the gaming community, and strategic innovation in the face of a community that tends to resist change and new direction. These experiences are helping me in business school big time, I've talked about WC Saga in my applications, to my classmates, and to my professors who were really interested and impressed in how a small grassroots team of gaming fans turned out a professional grade product that ended up being more critically acclaimed then we ever thought it would be.

I definately love to keep in touch with some of you here and I appreciate the fan base. But yeah, I have new priorities.

Perhaps the devs could release their mission design tools. Then the fan base could start generating new content of their own. Just a thought.
