How to Establish auto-pilot link w/transport?

Maybe I'm missing something, but in the second prologue mission nothing happens when I fly to within 950 clicks of the transport. Do I need to do something else? Any help would be appreciated. Love the game but I can't get past this step.

I had the same problem... went like this F2 WOA... Y U NO HAVE AUTOLINK button...
