Newbie here//need help

Is the percentage that shows in the bottom left of the screen the health of the ship I'm fighting. I keep hitting an enemy ship but it never changes.

That's odd. What kind of ship id it and in what mission?
(Some ships are set to not take damage beyond a certain point in some missions to prevent players from script breaking.)
